General Information
Whether
you received a phone call with news of an unexpected death
or shared your loved one's final moments of a long illness,
your initial reaction to the death was likely shock. It doesn't
seem to matter how prepared we are - or aren't, if you're
responsible for making the funeral arrangements, shock and
grief can be immobilizing. Even simple decisions can be overwhelming.
Whatever
the circumstances of death, one of your first calls should
be to Coffel Schneider Funeral Homes and Crematory. We are available 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. We will be able to assist you
with information and making the appropriate notifications
and arrangements. At this time we will gather certain personal
information regarding the deceased and their wishes as well
as help you deal with this difficult time.
The
next step is to arrange the funeral. Should you bury or cremate
the body, or donate it to science? Has your loved one already
made prior funeral arrangement? What are you legally required
to buy? What other arrangements should you plan? We work with
you to explore all options available.
Personalization
A
funeral can and should be as unique as the life that is being
celebrated. Don't feel that you have to have specific type
of service or that your ideas for a special ceremony are unreasonable.
We would encourage you to ask questions and make suggestions
and are glad to assist you in arranging an unforgettable tribute
to someone you love.
Cremation
There
are increasing numbers of people choosing cremation. This
is a centuries-old funeral rite which is again growing in
preference. How are cremation services different from regular
burial services? They're not. Services with cremation are
the same as with earth burial, unless you prefer something
different. This includes music, prayers, and recitations of
your choice. You can having viewing and visitation arrangements,
with an open or closed casket (or no casket at all) for as
long or as short a period as you wish. We will provide you
with the necessary information to assist you with these decisions. |
